Black Beauty

The Kings Aces Magazine:
First off thank you for taking time out to chat with us over at the kings aces. Tell us about yourself ?

Angie:
Well I’m Angie aka Black Beauty, I’m 46 years old with 5 children and I also have a 8 year old grandson. I’m originally from Memphis Tennessee but I’ve been residing in the Seattle Washington area for 30 years. I have over 18 in social services.

The Kings Aces Magazine:
Why do you want to work as a model?

Angie:
I’ve always been told I have exotic eyes and I’m very photogenic

The Kings Aces Magazine:
Why are you interested in this career?

Angie:
I love fashion. I’m the person that would wear something that no one else would think of wearing but when they see me taking the chance of dressing outside of the box they are more comfortable with doing so as well

The Kings Aces Magazine:
How did you get started in Modeling?

Angie:
A friend of mine seen how much selfies I post online, so one day she asked me if I was interested in modeling for her friends website and it was being shot in a shoe store. Shoes are my passion and I said yes before even knowing what kind of pictures I would be taking. It turned out the pictures were promoting BDSM. I’m not in that lifestyle by the way lol.

The Kings Aces Magazine:
What are your goals as a model?

Angie:
I’m a very shy person and it took me a long time to even step out and try modeling. My only goal is to make some money for my two sons college and make some connections in the fashion industry. My dream is to be a fashion stylist and own my own clothing boutique. I also want to walk in a fashion show in New York

The Kings Aces Magazine:
How do you see yourself progress in this field?

Angie:
I think I’m doing rather well being that I’ve only been modeling for a year. I’m in one fashion show a month and I have a photo shoot about every two months. Trying to build up my portfolio and confidence

The Kings Aces Magazine:
What do you hope to accomplish in modeling.

Angie:
I hope when people see me they see “that normal girl next door or sexy grandma (nana to my grandson lol) and seeing me gives them the courage and confidence to go after their goals and dreams. I want to be the example that short curvy brown skin women are attractive too. That dark chocolate skin is beautiful

The Kings Aces Magazine:
Do you have any limitations? E.g.(Nudity, lingerie, business attire)Would you model any kind of clothing at all?

Angie:
Being that I’m a mother and grandmother , I can’t wear anything that’s going to embarrass my family so full nudity is not an option for me

The Kings Aces Magazine:
What is your measurements?

Angie:
Hips 46, waist 36, breast 38DDD

The Kings Aces Magazine:
What Can a person tell from looking at a picture of you?

Angie: I speak with my eyes. If it’s a full body picture, they would see my bow legs

The Kings Aces Magazine:
Who are some of your favorite models?

Angie: I actually don’t have a favorite model but I do like Tara Banks and Eva and I can’t forget Iman. Those ladies are just beautiful and seem so down to earth

The Kings Aces Magazine:
Which fashion magazines, websites, blogs,  do you find yourself looking at the most?

Angie:
Well modeling is really something I enjoy doing because I love fashion I really don’t follow blogs or websites. The only fashion magazine I read more than others are Ebony and Essence. I enjoy reading about someone that looks like me making a difference in the world of fashion

The Kings Aces Magazine:
How would you describe your style?

Angie:
Me haha my style is colorful and bold. With my dark chocolate skin tone I can pretty much wear any color. I like to play with colors and mix them up. Purple is my favorite color so my hair and lips are pretty much always purple. I also think I have a classy yet sexy style

The Kings Aces Magazine:
What advice do you have for other aspiring models?

Angie:
don’t listen to what others have to say especially if it’s negative. Don’t be afraid to go after what you want. Talk to other models and network and do as much training you can

The Kings Aces Magazine:
How do you prepare yourself  for a modeling shoot how do you get in your zone?

Angie:
I channel my inner Goddess or Diva personality and that has to do with being confident and fierce

The Kings Aces Magazine:
How would you describe working with a photographer, Are you shy? what is your mind frame?

Angie:
Yes I’m very shy with photographers especially if we’ve never worked together before but I warm up very quickly. I listen and take advice from the photographers, they know what makes a picture look best

The Kings Aces Magazine:
So tell us How has modeling changed your life?

Angie:
it hasn’t really changed my life that much except I’m more busy doing something I enjoy. I’ve always been known for the way I dress or my style so modeling has just given me a reason to look like a Diva at all times lol

The Kings Aces Magazine:
Do you do your own preparing or do you have a stylist?

Angie:
I have now started doing my own hair and makeup. I’m not financially ready for my own stylist. Plus most MUA are volunteers and don’t really have experience working with my skin tone

The Kings Aces Magazine:
When everything is all said and done, what would you like your fans to say about you and what you brought to the table?

Angie:
Look at that little black girl from South Memphis doing it!! That’s what I want people to say when they think about me. That I made modeling look easy or attainable and if she can do it I know I can do it. And last, you don’t have to be tall or thin to model and you can start modeling at 45 haha

The Kings Aces Magazine:
well thank you for taking the time  to sit with us and we want to wish you much success through out your career. Hopefully  you will come some time in the future and we can keep your loyal fans updated on your future endeavors
