The Kings Aces Magazine:
First off thank you for taking time out to chat with us over at the kings aces.

Thanks for having me!

The Kings Aces Magazine:
Tell us about yourself: Why do you want to work as a model? Why are you interested in this career?

Cassandra Starr:
My name is Cassandra Starr, and I am a photographer and model. I've always been an artist of sorts. From music to dance.. I've done it, but I found my passion in photography.  Both taking pictures and posing for them.

Modeling for me is about all about self expression as a collaboration. I like the spark that happens between a model and photographer when a picture clicks.  I enjoy the reaction of the audience once they see the final picture.

More importantly, I see modeling as a way of appreciating the human body. I take delight in my imperfections and I want to share that joy with others. Modeling and photography is how I can do that..

The Kings Aces Magazine:
How did you get started in Modeling? Also how did you start nude art...tell us what's the difference between nude art oppose to just being nude.

Cassandra Starr:
I got started when I met a photographer, John E. Miles, and he suggested I try a shoot with him.  It had been something that I had been interested in for years, and I felt it was finally time to take the plunge.  One shoot turned into me becoming his muse and the rest is history.

Nude art came about because the first photographer I ever posed for is an art nude photographer.  What is an art nude? An art as opposed to a regular nude often comes down to how the model is posed the lighting in the picture and the mood. Even a difference in facial expression can be the difference from erotica to art nude. (Think the "O" face vs a look of calm)

The Kings Aces Magazine:
What are your goals as a model? How do you see yourself progress in this field?

Cassandra Starr:
My goal as a model is to make art.  Growing in the field, I still see myself being both in front of and behind the lens equally. I like working with other models, and my modeling helps me direct shoots in a different way.

The Kings Aces Magazine:
What do you hope to accomplish in modeling

Cassandra Starr:
As a model I hope that I'm able to bring my own style of beauty to the table.

The Kings Aces Magazine:
Do you have any limitations? E.g.(Nudity, lingerie, business attire)Would you model any kind of clothing at all?

Cassandra Starr:
My only limits are erotica and shooting nude outdoors during the winter.. lol

The Kings Aces Magazine:
What is your measurements?

Cassandra Starr:
Standing at 5'5" I am 36-30-38

The Kings Aces Magazine:
What Can a person tell from looking at a picture of you?

Cassandra Starr:
I hope they see grace, strength, and creativity!

The Kings Aces Magazine:
Who are some of your favorite models?

Cassandra Starr:
My inspirations include Grace Jones, Lena Horne, Eartha Kitt. I've also met many different people through out the years that I find myself trying to channel their uniqueness.

The Kings Aces Magazine:
Which fashion magazines, websites, blogs,  do you find yourself looking at the most?

Cassandra Starr:
Instagram, usually I just peruse through. Afro Punks IG and DarkHandPath are two of my favorites.

The Kings Aces Magazine:
How would you describe your style?

Cassandra Starr:
My personal style is what I call grey goth. Grey is a grounding color for me, so I wear a lot of it.

The Kings Aces Magazine:
What advice do you have for other aspiring models?

Cassandra Starr:
Besides find your light and angles? Idk. I find that in modeling that it's really easy to become discouraged.  Whenever I feel frustrated or stagnant with the work that I'm doing I go look at old photos.  It helps me see how much I've grown, and that makes me feel better.

The Kings Aces Magazine:
How do you prepare yourself  for a modeling shoot how do you get in your zone?

Cassandra Starr:
I drink a lot of water.. I stretch and I play some music!

The Kings Aces Magazine:
How would you describe working with a photographer, Are you shy? what is your mind frame?

Cassandra Starr:
I like working with a photographer that enjoys making the experience a team activity. I'm not shy and I'm vocal about what's going on.  I think communication between the photographer and model is the most important part of getting the shot.

The Kings Aces Magazine:
So tell us How has modeling changed your life?

Cassandra Starr:
It's provided an outlet for my style of self expression (visual) and it's made my photography better by giving me a different perspective of what's going on.

The Kings Aces Magazine:
Do you do your own preparing or do you have a stylist?

Cassandra Starr:
I do my own hair and makeup.

The Kings Aces Magazine:
When everything is all said and done, what would you like your fans to say about you and what you brought to the table?

Cassandra Starr:
I hope that my fans see me as an artist, and that my craft inspires them to get out there and make their own art. It doesn't have to be a photo, but anything. Go express yourself!

The Kings Aces Magazine:
