Gambit

THE KINGS ACES MAGAZINE:
first off thank you for taking time out to chat with us over at the kings aces.

Gambit:
Thanks for having me its an honor to be interviewed by Kings Aces Magazine

THE KINGS ACES MAGAZINE:
So let the people know your name, what you do and where you're from.

Gambit:
The name's Gambit a.k.a Macho Gamb. I'm a rap artist/battle rapper out of Trenton N.J.

THE KINGS ACES MAGAZINE:
When was it that you first realized you wanted to do this profession?

Gambit:

Well, I began writing and rhyming since 13, around freshman year of high school I was recognized for my skill and I began taking it seriously soon after sophomore year.

THE KINGS ACES MAGAZINE:
how long have you been doing this?

Gambit:

I've been rapping seriously for close to 20 years but as far as battle rap its been 4 solid.

THE KINGS ACES MAGAZINE:
Who are your influences?

Gambit:

In the world of music my influences vary from Jimmy Hendrix to Jay-Z, but as far as battle rap my main influences are Daylyt, Lux, Tay Roc, Ars and a few others.

THE KINGS ACES MAGAZINE:
What made you want to get into the business?

Gambit:
Watching some of my peers and close friends get into the ring did it for me. Its something about seeing a live battle thats taunts at your talent and forces you to go out there and do it too.

THE KINGS ACES MAGAZINE:

What are you thinking about when working on a beat or developing a album?

Gambit:
When im writings songs I usually come in with a concept followed by choosing a select instrument from the beat to write and flow to. Depending on where I'm at in the song, I may switch up the instrument im writing to which also helps switch up my flow......
As far as battle rap, I build off of the opponent's name, the league, past battles, current events, and geography. The more I battle the more I learn, which helps in the next performance.

THE KINGS ACES MAGAZINE:

Tell us what do you think listeners will get out of your music?

Gambit:

Simply put....everything! Im versatile so I fit in most situations just fine, hardcore, pop style, classic hip-hop,  new age, if you have a preference I have a song to match.
With battle rap, you get all of that with a fighters aggression, and its live and in your face!

THE KINGS ACES MAGAZINE:

What is the most difficult thing you had to endure in life?

Gambit:

Being Black. No funny shit and not being political, between the city that I'm from and my skin color, I believe I have to work harder than most for achievement.

THE KINGS ACES MAGAZINE:
What is the most difficult thing you had to endure in the music industry?

Gambit:
The favoritism, not being connected to the right people can hurt you out there. I know that experience hands on.

THE KINGS ACES MAGAZINE:

How does it feel to  finally getting your break?

Gambit:
I can't say I have my break yet lol,  but it feels good to be in the position I'm in. I'm humble to my achievements and keep faith that I'm making the right choices.

THE KINGS ACES MAGAZINE:
What do you hope to do with your music?

Gambit:
Give more life to my legacy. When I'm dead and gone someone will speak my name in the conversion of greatness.

THE KINGS ACES MAGAZINE:
if there was one thing about your career that you would change right now, what would that be?

Gambit:
Working with more people who genuinely care about where my career with music had been headed.

THE KINGS ACES MAGAZINE:
when everything is all said and done, what would you like your fans to say about you and what you brought to the table?

Gambit:
Any conversation that has my name in it, is a blessing. Good or bad to be brought up clearly means you've made an impact on a vast majority,  to me that's enough to say I made an accomplishment.

THE KINGS ACES MAGAZINE:
Come back and sit with us well thank you for taking the time to sit with us and we want to wish you much success through out your career. Hopefully you will come some time in the future and we can keep your loyal fans updated on your future endeavors.
